Our experience was that first internals almost always determined the winner. Lots of fun until the internals came in, and then I coast along without power for three or four turns of receiving fire while he guts my fighter. From there, he coasted at the same velocity the rest of the game while I coasted alongside pouring fire into the breached armor.įor three or four turns, as I would short his drive/power plant and ultimately hit everything else on the allocation chart before killing him. First game, it was fun while the armor held, then the internals started shorting out the opponent's power plant or drive. Our main complaint was how the same systems got hit much of the time. Sometimes it's nice to not be so concerned with "speed of play," and be able to get lost in some of the crazy details that some of the old guard wargames had. Yeah, it took a while, but it was exciting to see what system fried next. Valander wrote: I actually really enjoyed the damage allocation flow chart thing in old RL Interceptor. While I appreciate making things less black and white between the two main factions (since the original RL was basically Star Wars Rebels vs Empire), I will see the final product first before forming any opinions, though I do hope their Leviathan art retains some of the old imagery. Hmm.looks like they are basically reworking the whole universe.

I was kind of always hoping for something like a progression of the original, something maybe breaking up TOG, like with a civil war or the opening of a new front like with the KessRith, so that its victory did not seem inevitable and maybe making it so it was not so black and white. It seems like TOG is now really the "Tellun Empire", the Commonwealth is now an alien Union, and TOG itself does not seem to be Rome in Space anymore. Bumping the 13 to 15, I start out with the rank of Centurion Maximus. This is further modified by adding my Luck and IQ together, for a 16, and dividing it by 8. Looks like they are also redoing the actual Renegade Legion universe. I decide to go with the Renegade Legion Legions, as a Combat Arms guy. I actually would like a Leviathan based computer game, though Leviathan as a game needs working as it was clearly unbalanced (Class E missile systems dominated). I think it had a branching campaign that branched depending on how you did in the missions, which unfortunately were rather repetitive. Stormonu wrote: This thing needs some killin'
